Three Days on 30A: A Plan Sequenced by the Hours We Could Actually Source

This plan is built the way our Region C fact base is built: out of the doors we can show you are open, and out of nothing else. Across roughly the whole named-restaurant roster of South Walton, our sources carry one clean operator-published weekly closed day, one standing seasonal closure, and a short list of daily schedules an operator put on its own site. Those are the hinges of these three days. Everything else on this coast is a phone call, and where a stop is a phone call this plan says so and gives you the number instead of a plausible-sounding opening time.
Two structural facts shape every day below. First, there is no city anywhere on 30A. Seaside, Grayton Beach, Seagrove Beach, Blue Mountain Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, Dune Allen, Gulf Place, Inlet Beach and the rest are developments, planned communities and informal place names in unincorporated Walton County, and the body you call is the county, the South Walton Fire District, or the State of Florida. Second, the water and the wet sand below the mean high-water line are Florida public trust, and Visit South Walton states the public may traverse the wet sand for the entire 26 miles of beach in Walton County. The dry sand above it is a different, separate and actively litigated question, ownership is frequently private, and the law moved again in June 2025. This plan names those two questions separately and will not tell you that you can sit somewhere it cannot show you that you can.
One thing this plan deliberately does not do: it does not tell you how far apart anything is. No road distance and no drive time between any two points in South Walton exists in our fact base, and inventing one is the failure this page exists to avoid. The days below are grouped by which doors we can show you are open, not by how far apart the stops sit. If a day turns out to spread further than suits you, reorder it — nothing here depends on the order except the opening hours printed beside each stop.
Day 1: Gulf Place and Seaside — the confirmed beach mat, and the town centre that is somebody's private property
4447 W. Co Hwy 30A, Santa Rosa Beach. Walton County's own Beach Access Selection Chart records 39 parking spaces, restrooms, an ADA-compatible access and a vendor zone here; locally the access is often called Gulf Place. Two things make it the right first stop of a first visit. It is one of the Regional Beach Accesses Visit South Walton names as guarded, and it is the only access anywhere in our fact base where an actual wheelchair-friendly mat of the Mobi-Mat type across the sand is documented — several other Regional Beach Accesses are marked ADA compatible in the county chart, and ADA compatible and has a beach mat are not the same claim. An ADA-compliant boardwalk gets a chair to the top of the dune; a mat is what gets it across soft sand. Read the parking count as what it is: a documented capacity, not a statement that a space exists at 10 a.m. in July. We hold no occupancy, fill-time or overflow data for any access on this coast.
Beach safety on this coast belongs to the South Walton Fire District, an independent special district with its own elected board and its own state charter — not a county department, and not any city, because there is no city. Its five flags are green for low hazard, yellow for medium, red for high, double red for water closed to the public, and purple for marine pests, which can fly alongside another colour rather than replacing it. The single most useful thing to know about that system, and the thing competitor pages leave out: one flag colour flies county-wide, and it reflects the most dangerous conditions found anywhere in the county. The flag in front of you may therefore be more severe than the water in front of you looks, and the district warns in terms that a dangerous rip current can be present with no visible surface indication. Do not second-guess a red flag because the surf looks flat where you are standing. Flags are posted at the beach access points; Visit South Walton states you can text SAFETY to 31279 for real-time Gulf conditions and flag-status updates, with standard message and data rates applying. Entering the Gulf under double red flags carries a $500 fine under Walton County Ordinance 2025-22, an amendment to the Waterways and Beach Activities Ordinance adopted 24 November 2025 and effective immediately. For rip-current forecasting, the operational products for this coast are the National Weather Service Tallahassee Surf Zone Forecast and its Beach Hazards Statements; the office also publishes an interactive beach page that it labels itself an Experimental Beach Forecast Webpage and marks under development, so treat it as the beta product its publisher says it is. Never carry a risk level forward from a page you read yesterday. For water quality, the Florida Department of Health runs the Healthy Beaches programme with statewide thresholds of good at 0 to 35 CFU per 100 mL, moderate at 36 to 70 and poor at 71 or above, with an advisory issued when a sample exceeds 70 and a resample confirms it; DOH-Walton publishes dated bi-weekly results for Walton County sites and the live page is the only version worth reading. For red tide, the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission runs the statewide monitoring and its current-status map.
5960 W County Hwy 30A, Santa Rosa Beach. Its own site publishes Monday to Friday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; the destination-marketing guide separately lists a Sunday brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Phone (850) 267-3053. No weekly closure day and no seasonal closure appears on the operator's own site — and that is a statement about our fact base, not a warranty that the restaurant never closes. One filing oddity worth knowing rather than resolving: the destination-marketing guide files Stinky's under Dune Allen while its street address renders Santa Rosa Beach. Neither is picked here, and neither is a jurisdiction — both are unincorporated Walton County.
Seaside is an unincorporated master-planned community, privately developed under its own design code. It is not gated at the community level, and that is exactly why it gets misread: the Amphitheater, Central Square and the shops are privately owned common space that is open to visitors and is not county-operated, and being welcome in a private square is not a public right and is not beach access. Our sources record Seaside's own beach access points as narrow neighbourhood walkovers with no parking and active towing enforcement of non-residents — that detail rests on a 30A real-estate blog rather than on any authority, and we carry it as such, but the direction of the risk is one-way and it is not the kind of thing to test. Two stops with operator-published daily hours: Modica Market at 109 Seaside Central Square, daily 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the same hours year-round on its own site, which is a grocery with prepared foods rather than a sit-down restaurant; and Black Bear Bread Co. at 2311 E County Hwy 30A, daily 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., phone (850) 738-6771, which takes online orders through Toast Tab — that is ordering, not a reservation system, and the two are different products under one vendor name. Sundog Books is an independent bookstore confirmed to exist in Seaside; we hold no street address and no opening hours for it. The Seaside Repertory Theatre performs in a 75-seat venue described as the Meeting Hall Theatre in downtown Seaside and sells tickets through the Arts People platform; we hold no address, no season and no performance date, so it is a name to look up rather than a stop to plan around.
Seaside is reinstating managed paid parking with a shuttle. What its own announcement supports: paid zones centred on Smolian Circle and other marked spots, payment by text-to-pay, by QR code or through the Passport Parking app, a free shuttle running from a satellite lot on Hwy 331 S just past the Sanctuary at 331 apartment complex to the Lyceum Archway in central Seaside, and parking passes issued to vacation-rental guests for the length of their stay. What does not publish, and the reason is the source itself: that same announcement gives two different years for the start of the programme, and a source that contradicts itself about one of its own dates is weakened as to all of its dates. So no start date, no rate card and no shuttle operating hours appear here. Separately and county-wide: vehicles left in a Walton County Municipal Parking Lot between midnight and 5 a.m. face a $500 fine, rising to $750 if unpaid within 30 days, enforced by licence-plate-reader camera through a contracted vendor, PCI Municipal Services. That was reported as aimed explicitly at short-term-rental guests using the lots as overflow parking. Payment for the county lots is online at parkwaltonco.org. We do not publish the county parking rates: every figure we have comes from coverage of a rollout that was days old when it was written, and the county's own instruction is to verify against parkwaltonco.org first.
Bud & Alley's at 2236 E County Rd 30-A publishes restaurant hours of daily 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and a roof deck bar daily 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., with reservations through Toast Tab and phone (850) 231-5900. No weekly closure day is published on its own site, which is not the same as a guarantee that there is none. The alternative is Great Southern Café at 83 Central Square, whose own FAQ states it is open 365 days a year from 8 a.m. until at least 9:30 p.m. Read that carefully: until at least 9:30 p.m. is a floor, not a closing time, and we will not print it as one — the 365-days claim is the operator's own and it publishes; the closing hour does not. We also do not print a phone number for Great Southern Café, because the one number in our sources for it is given by a different research pass as the contact for a different Seaside business entirely, and until somebody rings it and asks who answers we will not send you to it.
No road mileage and no drive time between any two stops above exists in our fact base, so none is given. Scenic Highway 30A itself has five different lengths in circulation across our sources, one publisher giving two of them inside a single document, so we publish no length for the road either — what we can tell you is where it runs: it loops south off US-98 near Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, west of Dune Allen Beach, and rejoins US-98 at Inlet Beach. Parking today: Ed Walline's county-charted 39 spaces, and Seaside's managed paid parking above. Closures to remember for the next two days: For The Health Of It in Blue Mountain Beach is closed Sunday, and that is the one clean operator-sourced weekly closed day anywhere in our Region C sources — everything else on this coast is unverified in one direction or the other.
Day 2: Grayton Beach and Seagrove — the one water rental with a published schedule, and a dinner that needs booking
26 Logan Lane, Unit G, Santa Rosa Beach, daily 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., phone (850) 213-4528. This is the same brand as yesterday's Seaside stop and it is not the same schedule: the Grayton Beach location closes at 1 p.m. and the Seaside location closes at 5 p.m., four hours apart. Never read one location's hours off the other, here or anywhere else on this coast — several brand names in South Walton appear at two or three addresses whose relationship our sources cannot establish at all.
Friends of Grayton runs kayak and paddleboard rentals on site at Grayton Beach State Park, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week, booked through FareHarbor online or in person. That is the operator's own published schedule as our research read it on 26 July 2026, and it is the only rental schedule of any kind in our Region C fact base. The water is Western Lake, a coastal dune lake inside the park — and this is the point that matters more than the paddling. A coastal dune lake is not public by default. Several of South Walton's dune lakes are wholly or partly ringed by private residential communities and gated developments, and that is the norm on this coast rather than the exception. Walton County's own page sources a public boat ramp on exactly three of them: Western Lake, Eastern Lake and Lake Powell. Every other named lake in our sources carries no public-access determination of any kind, and the county's own document on public access points to the dune lakes has never been retrieved by anyone on this project. Do not launch on a lake without confirming that the specific access point is public. One thing we cannot give you: the state park's own entry fee, opening hours or street address. Those all trace to a domain that has returned HTTP 403 to this project on ten distinct URLs across three separate research sections, so a boat booking here is only half the transaction and we cannot tell you what the other half costs.
The Underwater Museum of Art is a designated one-acre seabed area in the Gulf off Grayton Beach State Park, described by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County as the first permanent underwater sculpture garden in the United States, with sculptures placed to seed marine habitat on otherwise mostly barren sand flat. It is run by the Cultural Arts Alliance with the South Walton Artificial Reef Association, and the Alliance's own materials describe it as being for certified open-water divers. The depth is the fact that governs everything else: the Alliance gives it as roughly 60 feet, and that hedge is the Alliance's own. At that depth it is not visible from the beach, it is not something you snorkel, and it is not something you swim out to. Our fact base carries no dive charter, no launch point, no boat and no shore route to it, and no current count of installed works — so this is an attraction to book through a dive operator you find yourself, not a stop this plan can route you to. The Alliance directs visitors to UMAFL.org.
3468 E. Co Hwy 30A, Santa Rosa Beach. The county chart records 30 spaces plus 30 more on the north side, restrooms and a vendor zone. Santa Clara is one of the Regional Beach Accesses Visit South Walton names as guarded, and it is one of the staffed locations where the fire district's beach-wheelchair programme is documented. As at every access on this list, a documented space count is a capacity and not a promise.
3899 East Scenic Highway 30A, Seagrove Beach. Dinner only, daily from 4:30 p.m., reservations required, booked through Resy, phone (850) 231-2166. This is the best-documented dinner booking anywhere in our Region C sources and it is the only one where the operator states that reservations are required rather than accepted. One thing we will not do: our sources carry a holiday closure for this restaurant stamped 30 November to 25 December 2025 — a season that has already passed — and republishing a year-stamped closure as this coming winter's schedule would be exactly the error this whole plan is built to avoid. If you are travelling in the holidays, ring and ask.
Again, no distance and no drive time. Two of today's three anchors sit inside a state park whose gate fee and hours we cannot publish, so budget an unknown at the gate rather than a figure. Grayton Beach is one of the county Municipal Parking Lots where charging began in April 2026 — the rates do not publish, and the overnight midnight-to-5 a.m. prohibition and its $500 and $750 penalties do. We do not name the full list of lots covered: one of them is recorded by one of our sources as a paid Municipal Parking Lot and by the same source as a free county-managed access, and we resolve that in neither direction. Walton County operates a free Beach Tram serving its Municipal Parking Lots; we publish no tram hours, no frequency and no list of which lots it serves, because two of our sources give different answers to all three. Businesses along 30A contract their own towing for their private lots, so do not park in a business lot to reach the beach unless the business permits it. Closure to remember: nothing on today's list publishes a weekly closed day, which is a fact about our sources and not about the restaurants.
Day 3: Blue Mountain Beach and the east end — with the one closed day we can actually promise you
For The Health Of It at 2217 West County Hwy 30A, Blue Mountain Beach is open Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed Sunday on its own site. That is the one clean, operator-sourced weekly closed day in our entire Region C fact base, and it lands on the day most families have free. Two honest ways to handle it. Option A: swap Day 2 and Day 3, so the Blue Mountain Beach stop falls on a weekday. Option B: keep the order below and take the Sunday substitutes named in the midday block. What we will not do is tell you which other restaurants are open on a Sunday, because across the named roster in our sources the large majority did not publish a weekly closed day at all — and an absence of a published closure day is not a published absence of closure.
2365 S. Co Hwy 83, Santa Rosa Beach. The county chart records 20 spaces, restrooms and a vendor zone. Blue Mountain is one of the Regional Beach Accesses Visit South Walton names as guarded. Twenty is a small documented capacity and it is worth saying plainly what that means and does not mean: it means the county charts twenty spaces, and it means nothing about whether one is free when you arrive.
2217 West County Hwy 30A, Blue Mountain Beach. Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Sunday, on its own site; phone (850) 267-0558. An organic grocery and juice bar rather than a restaurant. On a Sunday, the two substitutes with operator-published daily hours are Modica Market in Seaside, daily 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the same hours year-round, and Great Southern Café in Seaside, whose own FAQ states it is open 365 days a year from 8 a.m. — with no closing hour published here, for the reason given on Day 1. One address note recorded rather than resolved: our sources also place a business called Blue Mountain Bakery at street number 2217 on the same road, rendered slightly differently. A shared plaza address is ordinary; we flag it only so nobody reads one entry as evidence about the other.
Eden Gardens State Park sits in the Point Washington community on Tucker Bayou off Choctawhatchee Bay — inland side, bayside, and not a Gulf beach. It is Florida DEP ground, which means the rules inside its gate are the park's own and no Walton County rule is restated inside it. The draw is the Wesley House, a restored 1897 mansion listed on the National Register of Historic Places and on the Florida Women's Heritage Trail, with live oaks draped in Spanish moss, a rose garden and a nature trail on the grounds. Friends of Eden Gardens, the partner nonprofit, records hourly guided tours of the house Thursday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., as our research read that page on 26 July 2026 — which makes it the best-sourced tour schedule anywhere in our Region C material and still a schedule nobody here has re-read since. Three things we will not tell you: the entry fee, the tour price, and the street address. The fee and the address trace to the domain that refuses this project, and the only figure our sources hold for the tour is the words a nominal fee, which is a characterisation and not a price. Ring the park before you build an afternoon on it.
Old Florida Fish House, 33 Heron's Watch Way, Santa Rosa Beach: lunch 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., dinner 4:30 to 10 p.m., reservations through Resy, and the operator states it does not accept reservations by voicemail. No weekly closure day appears on its own site. Our sources carry no phone number for it, so Resy is the channel. The destination-marketing guide files it under Seagrove Beach by proximity while its own address renders Santa Rosa Beach; neither is picked, and neither is a municipality. Or Shades Bar & Grill, 10952 E County Hwy 30A, Inlet Beach: daily 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on its own site, no reservations, first-come first-served, described by the operator as built to handle large volumes and crowds, phone (850) 231-9410. Its operator-published fee terms as our research read them on 26 July 2026: a 20 percent gratuity for parties of eight or more and for tables with unaccompanied minors, a 3 percent non-cash card fee, a 20 percent gratuity on all to-go orders, and no Apple Pay or tap-to-pay. Bring a card you can swipe. One caution about the address rather than the restaurant: Inlet Beach straddles the Walton and Bay county line, its eastern edge is in Bay County, and our fact base cannot tell you which side of that line any individual Inlet Beach address falls on.
No distance and no drive time, today or on any other day of this plan. Blue Mountain Beach's twenty county-charted spaces are the smallest capacity on today's list. If you are travelling with a dog, read the dog block in the tips below before you put a leash in the car — the county rule is an eligibility rule, not a leash law, and a visitor staying in a rental cannot satisfy it.

Tips
- The flag is county-wide, not local. - Double red is not advisory. It means the water is closed to the public, and entering the Gulf under it carries a $500 fine under Walton County Ordinance 2025-22, adopted 24 November 2025.
- A dog and a rental do not mix here, and this is the fact most visitors arrive not knowing. Dogs are allowed on county-maintained beach only if owned by a Walton County real property owner or permanent resident who holds a permit, and permitted dogs are confined to the beach only between 3:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. That is an eligibility rule, not a leash law: a visiting dog owner staying in a vacation rental is not eligible for the county permit, and a rental's own pet-friendly listing grants nothing at all on the sand. The governing instrument is Walton County Code of Ordinances Chapter 22, section 22-31, as amended by Ordinance 2025-22, adopted 24 November 2025. State park pet policies are a different rulebook and we hold none of them.
- Do not plan the trip around The Red Bar. It is the most-searched name in Grayton Beach and our fact base carries no current hours for it, no closed day, no phone number, and no readable source of any kind — the operator site and the news coverage of its rebuild both refused this project. It is listed at 70 Hotz Ave by the county's tourism publisher, and a listing is not an operating fact.
- Four communities on this corridor are ones we cannot route you into. Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach, WaterColor and WaterSound each restrict access, each does it differently, and for none of them can our fact base tell you whether a non-guest may drive in to eat, park or walk the streets. We do not tell you that you may, and we do not tell you that you may not. If a restaurant you want is inside one of them, ring the restaurant and ask what a non-guest presents at the gate.
- A parking space count is a capacity, not an availability. The county charts the numbers used above; nothing anywhere in our sources records how quickly any of these lots fills, in any season.
- Seaside is not gated and that does not make it easy. Its beach walkovers are narrow neighbourhood access points with no parking and towing enforcement of non-residents, and its town centre is privately owned common space. Being welcome to walk in is not the same as being welcome to park.
- The two best-documented indoor openings in this whole region are a market and a grocery. Modica Market, daily 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. year-round, and For The Health Of It, Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed Sunday. If the weather turns, those are the two doors we can show you are open.
Who this fits — and who it does not
Fits: a first visit by car, by a party that would rather have four stops with published hours than fifteen with plausible ones. Fits anyone who wants the orientation facts — who governs the sand, which communities are open to them, what the flag means — delivered alongside the plan rather than in a footnote.
Does not fit: a party that needs a fixed clock. This plan gives opening hours where an operator published them and refuses to give travel times anywhere, so it cannot be run to a timetable. Does not fit a party whose trip depends on entering Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach, WaterColor or WaterSound, because we cannot tell you whether you can. Does not fit a party that needs a dog on the beach in daylight — see the eligibility rule in the tips. Does not fit a party that wants everything priced: this fact base contains no price data of any kind for any lodging, any restaurant menu or any state park gate in Region C.
Assumptions
This plan is written against a specific set of constraints, and every one of them is a property of the source material rather than a stylistic choice.
- Arrival by car, with the car available all three days. No public transit reaches the 30A neighbourhoods in anything our fact base records, and we do not say none exists.
- Three full days, in any order. Day 3 carries the only day-of-week hinge in the plan, and it is named in that day's first block.
- No drive time is published anywhere in this plan, and no road distance either. Neither exists in our fact base for any pair of points in Region C, and the rule against estimating one is categorical rather than a matter of source quality.
- The corridor's endpoints are named as places, not as a length. Five different figures for the length of Scenic Highway 30A are in circulation across our sources, and one publisher gives two of them inside a single document.
- Every opening hour below is what one operator published on one date, read by our research on 26 July 2026 and not re-read since. It is not a warranty that the door opens on the day you turn up.
- Guarded coverage is documented at Regional Beach Accesses and nowhere else. Nothing in this plan implies a lifeguard anywhere off that named list.
The guarded window, and the list it belongs to
This is a 2026-season record. It is not a standing schedule, it does not carry into a later year by inheritance, and it is only meaningful attached to the specific named locations below. Detached from them it reads as coast-wide coverage, which is precisely what our sources do not support.
Visit South Walton names the guarded beach access locations as Miramar Beach, Dune Allen and Fort Panic, Ed Walline, Gulfview Heights, Blue Mountain, Santa Clara, Inlet Beach, and Seagrove and Van Ness Butler. For the 2026 season, the fire district material in our sources records coverage running 1 March to 31 October, staffed 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. We publish the names and not a count of them: our sources describe this list two different ways in the same breath and no reading reconciles.
Three limits travel with that list and none of them is optional. No Neighborhood Beach Access anywhere in Walton County is documented as guarded in our fact base, and we do not write that any of them is unguarded either. No state park beach is documented as guarded. And the guarded list names Inlet Beach once while three separate Inlet Beach access points sit on the same street, so the word Inlet Beach in that list is not an instruction to go to any particular one of them.

A charted space count is a documented capacity and not a statement that a space exists at 10 a.m. in July. This fact base holds no occupancy, fill-time or overflow data for any access. Outdoor showers are not documented per access anywhere in our sources — we do not write that any of these has one, and we do not write that any of them has none.
What we could not sequence, and why
An itinerary claims that these things can be done in this order, in one day, by one party. Where our fact base does not support that claim, this plan does not make it. Here is every place that bit.
No leg of any day is timed, because no drive time exists in our fact base and the rule against estimating one does not have a source-quality exception. No leg is measured either, because no road distance between any two Region C points exists here — the figures our sources carry come from a route-planning aggregator, a property manager and a blog, three of them disagree with each other, and none names the route it measured.
No day starts at a state park gate at a stated hour, because no state park opening hour publishes. Grayton Beach State Park and Eden Gardens State Park both appear above, and for both of them the fee, the hours and the address trace to a domain that has returned HTTP 403 on every attempt this project has ever made — ten distinct URLs across three research sections. What we can sequence there is the rental operator's own published window, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days at Friends of Grayton, and the partner nonprofit's own tour window at Eden Gardens.
No day includes Deer Lake State Park. It was reported closed on 21 July 2026 after a tropical storm, on a page this project cannot read, and nobody has checked since. We do not say it is closed and we do not say it is open, so it cannot carry a block.
No day includes a farmers market. Every market schedule in our sources is contradicted: Seaside's own site gives two different days on two different pages, the Grand Boulevard market's day is given as Saturday by one research pass and Wednesday by another citing the same listing, the Rosemary Beach market's source page never loaded at all, and the Baytowne Wharf market's schedule was never itemised.
No day routes into Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach, WaterColor or WaterSound. Their restaurants have published hours in our sources and their gate policies do not, so a block sending you to dinner there would be sequencing you to a door we cannot show you can reach.
No day uses a bicycle to get between stops. The Timpoochee Trail is a paved shared-use path running roughly parallel to 30A, west end at Dune Allen and east end in Inlet Beach near Shades Bar & Grill, and it is free to walk or ride — but no length for it publishes, from any source, in any form, so we cannot tell you how long any leg of it would take or how far it would go.
Rainy-day and red-flag substitutions
A double-red day in Walton County is not a weather inconvenience. It is a legally penalised beach closure — $500 under Ordinance 2025-22, adopted 24 November 2025 — so the what-do-we-do-instead question here has money attached to it.
Here is the honest form of the answer. Two indoor rooms in Walton County carry operator-published hours in our fact base: Modica Market at 109 Seaside Central Square, daily 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. year-round, and For The Health Of It at 2217 West County Hwy 30A, Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed Sunday. Eden Gardens State Park's Wesley House tours run Thursday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. per its partner nonprofit, and the grounds are shaded — but the house is a tour, not a shelter, and the fee does not publish.
Beyond those, what our fact base can name it names, and what it cannot it says it cannot. Sundog Books in Seaside exists and we hold no address and no hours. The Seaside Repertory Theatre performs in a 75-seat venue and we hold no address, no season and no date. The Grayton Beer Company taproom on Serenoa Road was reported closed pending the opening of a new location in Freeport, which is an inland incorporated municipality and not part of the 30A corridor at all. Two further drinks producers on the same road have addresses that rest on a listing domain this project cannot fetch, so we do not print them. Not one art gallery and not one day spa is named, addressed or scheduled anywhere in our Region C sources, so neither gallery-hopping nor a spa afternoon is offered here as an option.
What we will not do is tell you what this region lacks. Our sources contain a research pass that did not find a cinema, a bowling alley, a water park or an indoor play facility in Walton County, and that is a statement about a research pass rather than about the county. This project has tested five claims of the shape there is no X in this region: three were false and two were merely undisproven. So the honest sentence is that our fact base records no cinema, no bowling alley and no water park in Walton County, and nothing stronger than that.
Accessibility notes
The strongest accessibility fact in this region is a beach mat and it is at exactly one place. A wheelchair-friendly mat of the Mobi-Mat type across the sand is documented at Ed Walline Regional Beach Access and nowhere else in our fact base. Several other Regional Beach Accesses — Miramar Beach, Dune Allen, Gulfview Heights and Inlet Beach Central — are marked ADA compatible in the county's own chart, and that is a different claim: an ADA-compliant boardwalk or ramp gets a chair to the top of the dune, and a mat is what gets it across soft sand.
The South Walton Fire District provides sand-traversing beach wheelchairs at no cost, 1 March to 31 October, available 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at specific staffed towers including Miramar Beach, Ed Walline, Santa Clara and Inlet Beach. We do not publish the tower numbers, because our sources record one tower number against two different locations. On the reservation question both directions are closed: our fact base records no advance-reservation process and it does not establish that none exists, so do not turn up at 4 p.m. assuming a chair is waiting and do not assume you cannot book one. Ring the district on (850) 267-1298.
The honest gap: not one restaurant named in this plan publishes step-free entrance, accessible restroom or accessible parking detail anywhere in our sources, and our sources say so explicitly. Do not infer accessibility from beachfront or boardwalk language in a listing. Call ahead if it is a hard requirement — this is the largest single information gap in this itinerary.

Where that dossier records a claim as unverified, the claim is absent from the copy above and present in this record's verification debt instead.
No firsthand visit informs this plan. It is desk-built from that fact base alone, nobody on this project has stood at any of the gates or accesses named above, and every gap the dossier flagged as unconfirmed is carried forward rather than filled in.
One methodological note that governs how to read every citation here. Our research pass verified that its source URLs answered. It did not re-read the pages behind them, and a page returning a 200 response is not corroboration of anything the page is said to say.

Can we sit anywhere on the beach in Walton County?
No, and nobody can currently tell you exactly where you can. Two separate legal questions run down this beach. The water and the wet sand below the mean high-water line are Florida public trust, and Visit South Walton states the public may traverse the wet sand for the entire 26 miles of beach in Walton County — traverse is the sourced word and it is a walking word. The dry sand above it is a different, unsettled and actively litigated question, ownership is frequently private, and a 2023 settlement covered some parcels and not others. Settled and non-settled dry sand are adjacent and visually indistinguishable, and no parcel map exists in our sources. Use the marked Regional Beach Accesses, respect posted signage and rope lines, and expect that in front of large private homes and resorts the legally sittable strip may be narrow or contested.
Which beaches have lifeguards?
Guarded coverage documented in our fact base exists at Regional Beach Accesses and nowhere else. Visit South Walton names them as Miramar Beach, Dune Allen and Fort Panic, Ed Walline, Gulfview Heights, Blue Mountain, Santa Clara, Inlet Beach, and Seagrove and Van Ness Butler, and for the 2026 season our sources record coverage from 1 March to 31 October, staffed 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Two things not to read into that. No Neighborhood Beach Access and no state park beach is documented as guarded — and we are not saying any of them is unguarded either, because absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. And the guarded list names Inlet Beach once while three separate Inlet Beach access points sit on the same street, so it does not tell you which one to go to.
Who do we call about an incident on the beach?
There is no city anywhere on 30A, so the answer is never a police department of that name. Police, trespass or an incident on the sand is the Walton County Sheriff's Office, whose South Walton substation is at 133 Sheriff Drive, Santa Rosa Beach, (850) 267-2000, and 911 for emergencies. Fire, EMS, beach flags, lifeguards and water rescue is the South Walton Fire District, (850) 267-1298 — an independent special district with its own elected board and its own state charter, not a county department. Ordinances, permits, code compliance and beach rules are the Walton County Board of County Commissioners, (850) 892-8155. And anything physically inside a state park gate is that park's own staff and Florida law, not any county authority.
Can I bring my dog to the beach?
Almost certainly not, if you are staying in a vacation rental, and this is the single most misunderstood rule on this coast. Dogs are allowed on county-maintained beach only if they are owned by a Walton County real property owner or permanent resident who holds a county permit, and permitted dogs are confined to the beach only between 3:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. — excluded for the whole main daytime window. That is an eligibility rule rather than a leash law, so it is not something a visitor can comply with by bringing a leash. A rental listing that says pet-friendly is telling you about the house and grants nothing on the sand. Service animals are separately permitted where assisting with a disability. The instrument is Walton County Code of Ordinances Chapter 22, section 22-31, as amended by Ordinance 2025-22, adopted 24 November 2025.
How far apart are these stops?
We do not know, and we will not guess. No road distance and no drive time between any two points in South Walton exists in our fact base. The figures in circulation come from a route-planning aggregator, a vacation-rental property manager and a blog; three of them disagree with each other about the same journey, and none names the route it measured. Rather than print a number a reader cannot distinguish from a sourced one, this plan sequences by published opening hours and tells you to reorder any day that spreads further than suits you.
Why does this plan avoid Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach, WaterColor and WaterSound?
Because we cannot tell you whether you are allowed in, and we will not tell you that you are not either. Each of those four restricts access, each does it differently, and our sources characterise the arrangements inconsistently — the Alys Beach gate is described four incompatible ways across our source material and by none of those descriptions is the community itself the publisher. Rosemary Beach is recorded as private and gated with beaches described as accessible only to people staying there, and every source we had for its parking and permit terms is dead. Their restaurants publish hours; their gates do not publish policies. Ring the restaurant directly and ask what a non-guest presents at the gate before you build an evening on it.
Is there a bus, a trolley or a shuttle along 30A?
Our fact base records no fixed-route public transit service within the 30A loop, and it does not establish that none exists. The county transit service documented in our sources runs along US-331 between DeFuniak Springs and Freeport, terminating at a county administrative building, and it does not reach the 30A neighbourhoods — and its current operating status is given three different ways by three sources, the newest of them three years old. A private seasonal trolley is reported along 30A under two different names, one of which comes from a source this project cannot fetch at all, with no schedule, no route and no fare, so we do not send you to it. Walton County operates a free Beach Tram serving its Municipal Parking Lots, but our sources disagree about its hours, its frequency and which lots it serves, so we publish none of the three. Assume you need the car.
